We popped in real fast to grab lunch since we were staying in the area for a birthday trip. We rolled in about a half hour before they closed to get 4 take out plates. Everyone was pleasant and friendly and they entertained my toddler and her barrage of questions. They answered any food related questions we had and we got our food in record time. Upon trying it all out, not a single person had an issue. Everyone loved their selection and the reviews certainly held up. Everything was rich and delicious m. The rice was perfect, my wife loved the butter beans, and everyone was uncharacteristically quiet while eating due to being happy for the food. Literally the only thing to be aware of is that the parking is only a few spots out front. Most locals likely already know this. You can park right across the street or on the block behind. Everything is a pleasant walk around here. We will definitely be back. If weather holds up tomorrow, may even catch breakfast on the way out.
Cafeteria style a la carte dining. We had the “shark.” Got applewood smoked bacon, loaded hash brown casserole, cheese scrambled eggs, and a biscuit. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is indoor seating, but it was a little warm inside, so we sat on the porch, and that was very nice in the morning. Not crowded and there was no wait.
New to the area and this was recommended to me. I went for breakfast this morning. Holy cow! 5 stars is not enough. The food was amazing, the service was absolutely second to none and we will definitely be back!
This is cafeteria style setup. The staff is very friendly. The food is great. We got the shark plate. The chocolate muffin is very rich. The Blueberry is spot on delicious. My family will visit and eat here again.
We are new to the area and are so happy to have found this gem! We've been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times now and have enjoyed everything we've tried for breakfast and lunch! The staff is so sweet and welcoming and always happy to answer questions if we have any. We weren't used to the cafeteria style so the first visit, we were full of questions that were all happily answered. The food is full of flavor and comfort staples, sometimes with a new/different twist! The atmosphere is a wonderful blast from the past and makes me feel right at home, as if I'm at a great aunts house from back home! Thank you so much for the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service! We will be back again and again!!
Wow! Now that's some down home cooking like my Mama always made. Great Food, Service and yes a very fair price for a fabulous meal. They had a large variety of meats, sides cornbread/roll and drinks ready to make your plate. I will definitely stop on my next trip to the area. Thanks for reminding me how good meals used to be.
Absolutely loved this place. 10/10. The food was phenomenal. Actually tasted like my nanny made it for me. I am from Tennessee and all the decor was like walking into my grandma's house with the old country music playing in the background...it was like i was back at home. You also get a lot of food for your money!
This place is the most tasty meal you can find in Port St. Joe. The folks that run the place are always kind and welcoming. This is one of our favorites.
